Ojósè no pedía riquezas: pedía respeto.
Feliz Ose Obatala. Que Obàtálá bendiga tu hogar y tu camino. 🙏

Happy Ose Obatala — The Story of Obàtálá and Ojósè
Every Òsé day is a sacred day for Obàtálá, the Orisha of purity, wisdom and creation. On his day, devotees honour him with white, with peace and with kola nut. And there is a story that explains why: the story of Obàtálá and Ojósè, the wife who completed him.
The story
Òòsánlá Òseèrèmàgbò was in extreme need of a spouse who would help him fulfil the mandate Olódùmarè established for him on earth. He had previously had several women in his life, but none of them could complement his effort. This was frustrating, but Obàtálá was fully determined not to rest until he was able to find a woman of his choice.
On the other hand, Ojósè was looking for a man who would understand her and treat her well. She was willing to help her man achieve his ambition in life and realise his destiny, if he treated her well. Unfortunately for her, however, she always met men who did not appreciate her worth or give her the respect she deserved. She was convinced that, nevertheless, for every woman there was a man. The only thing was to meet her man at the right time. Consequently, she was willing to keep trying her luck until the right man came into her life.
One day, Obàtálá met Ojósè and they talked. Both immediately developed an interest in each other, especially when they realised they were both facing the same problem. Obàtálá went for Ifá consultation this time, in order to make sure that the mistakes of the past would not be repeated.
The questions on his mind were: Would Ojósè be good for him? Would they complement each other in their effort in life? Would he be happy with her? Would she also live happily with him? The Awo assured him that Ojósè was his ideal choice. He was told he would live happily with her and she would also be happy with him.
He was assured that Ojósè would complement all his efforts in life, as long as she was treated with respect and honour. Obàtálá was advised to choose one of the four religious festivals in honour of Ojósè. He was instructed to break kola nuts for Ojósè on these days on a regular basis. The Awo told Obàtálá that Ojósè demanded no more than this, and that, if done regularly, Ojósè would help Obàtálá in all aspects of his life. They advised Obàtálá to offer ebo as stipulated. He complied accordingly.
As soon as this was done, the appropriate steps were taken to formalise the relationship between Obàtálá and Ojósè. Every Ojósè (Òsé day), Obàtálá breaks two kola nuts in honour of his wife. In turn, Ojósè summons all the Iré of wealth, joy, satisfaction, achievement, success, victory, peace of mind, good health and so on, to the house of Obàtálá. With all this, Obàtálá has had the time and presence of mind to help others and to achieve his mission on earth. Obàtálá lived happily with Ojósè and, afterwards, always successfully.
The teaching
The story leaves us a clear lesson: destiny is fulfilled when two people treat each other with respect and honour. Obàtálá was not looking for just any wife: he was looking for the one who would complement his mission. Ojósè did not ask for riches: she asked for respect. And the gesture is simple and profound: every Òsé day, break two kola nuts in honour of the wife. May Ojósè summon to your home all the Iré: wealth, joy, satisfaction, achievement, success, victory, peace of mind and good health.
Happy Ose Obatala. May Obàtálá bless your home and your path. 🙏
