Cuenta Ifá que en el principio de los tiempos, cuando el mundo aún se estaba formando, Ogbè llegó ante Olódùmarè con las manos vacías pero el corazón lleno de fe.
Olódùmarè le preguntó: "¿Qué traes para ofrecer?"
Ogbè respondió: "Señor, no traigo riquezas ni sacrificios costosos. Solo traigo mi corazón puro, mi intención verdadera y mi disposición a seguir el camino correcto."
Olódùmarè sonrió y dijo: "Eso es más valioso que todo el oro del mundo. Por tu pureza de intención, te concedo la victoria sobre todos tus enemigos, la apertura de todos tus caminos y la luz que disipará todas tus tinieblas."
Así, Ogbè Méjì se convirtió en el símbolo de que la pureza del corazón y la rectitud de intención pueden más que cualquier sacrificio material. Es el Odù que proclama: "¡Victoria! ¡Luz! ¡Apertura total!"
Ifá tells that in the beginning of time, when the world was still forming, Ogbè came before Olódùmarè with empty hands but a heart full of faith.
Olódùmarè asked him: "What do you bring to offer?"
Ogbè replied: "Lord, I bring no wealth or costly sacrifices. I only bring my pure heart, my true intention, and my willingness to follow the right path."
Olódùmarè smiled and said: "That is more valuable than all the gold in the world. For your purity of intention, I grant you victory over all your enemies, the opening of all your paths, and the light that will dispel all your darkness."
Thus, Ogbè Méjì became the symbol that purity of heart and righteousness of intention are more powerful than any material sacrifice. It is the Odu that proclaims: "Victory! Light! Total openness!"
