Su símbolo principal es el tridente, que representa el dominio sobre los tres planos: el material, el espiritual y el umbral.

Exu es el dueño de la encrucijada (encruzilhada), el punto donde las decisiones se transforman en realidad. Actúa como un mensajero entre los hombres y los Orixás, siendo el primero en recibir ofrendas para asegurar que la comunicación sea clara. Son protectores incansables, encargados de limpiar los caminos de obstáculos, neutralizar hechizos y vigilar las puertas de los templos y hogares. Su energía es dinámica, pícara y profundamente justa.
3️⃣ Ofrendas, prohibiciones y refranes
Tradicionalmente, se les agrada con cachaça (marafo), puros, padê (harina de mandioca con aceite de palma), pimienta y carnes rojas. Entre sus prohibiciones destaca el uso de miel en ciertos rituales de Kimbanda, ya que puede "enfriar" su energía guerrera. Un refrán popular dice: "Exu mató un pájaro ayer con una piedra que lanzó hoy", recordándonos que su concepto del tiempo y la causalidad trasciende nuestra comprensión lineal.
