En la cosmovisión yoruba, Eshu (también conocido como Elegguá o Exú) no es una representación del mal, como a menudo se malinterpreta en sincretismos externos, sino la fuerza vital esencial que hace posible la comunicación entre el mundo humano (Aiyé) y el divino (Orún). In the Yoruba worldview, Eshu (also known as Elegguá or Exú) is not a representation of evil, as often misinterpreted in external syncretisms, but the essential life force that makes communication between the human world (Aiyé) and the divine realm (Orún) possible. As the owner of the roads and the guardian of the crossroads, Eshu is the first to be greeted in any ritual, for without his permission and dynamism, no sacrifice reaches the Orishas and no message is heard. His nature is that of constant movement, testing, and conflict resolution; he is the one who teaches that destiny (Ayanmo) is not static, but is shaped through choices, sacrifices (Ebó), and the understanding that chaos is often the necessary precursor to order. Honoring Eshu is recognizing the complexity of human existence and the need to navigate life with cunning, respect, and awareness of the consequences of every step.
